Tried them to support local business. Very clean environment. Had the catfish and onion rings. Food was average in portion and flavor. When I think of Soul Food I think of fresh fish with bigger portions and hand battered onion rings. These were not. Also the 2 pieces of white bread underneath really served no purpose to me. Prices on sides seem a little on the high side as well. A few tweaks and this place could have them lined up out the door.

The first time I went, I got salmon, yellow rice, cornbread, Mac and cheese, and green beans. I also got a peanut butter cookie and some sweet potato cheesecake. All of it was delicious and a generous portion size.
This time, I had meat at home so I bought sides(in vid and pics). Mac and cheese has a spice to it I enjoy. Green beans are lightly seasoned and I mixed them with the yellow rice(well-seasoned). Overall a great place and I will go again!

It is a very clean restaurant and the customer service was amazing but the food…… I tried the vegetable plate and the food was warm but that honestly best review I can give the food , the greens tasted like they were straight out of the can, the Mac had this weird stiffness to it, like it was frozen Mac and cheese with cheese added into it. The fried green tomatoes were extremely bland and the okra was definitely frozen and probably the pictsweet brand. This isn’t home cooking in my opinion and I was pretty disappointed. I haven’t tried the meat but I honestly feel like if you can’t get the sides right then trying anything else is not worth it. I appreciate the great service though. They were very sweet.

My husband and I just spotted this restaurant yesterday while picking up food from Bamboo Garden. Of course we had to try it today. I ordered the baked chicken and rice, maccaroni & cheese, and the smoked pasta salad. My husband ordered the fish and shrimp. The chicken & rice was a HUGE portion. 3 chicken thighs and lots of rice. It was delicious. The macaroni and cheese was good but cold, still good. The smoked pasta salad looks nothing like the photo on their website. It wasn't bad but it was more like maccaroni and cheese with spinach and peppers. My husband loved the fish and shrimp. The cornbread was good. Can't wait to try it with the collards and beans. The website also has a picture of the fried shrimp with hushpuppies (see 3rd photo). When my husband asked for the hushpuppies, the young man behind the counter asked him what are hushpuppies. We got a good laugh at that, then we started feeling really old. The young man was really friendly and made us feel welcomed. We will definitely be back to try something different. FYI: There are no seats to wait for your meal.

Stopped in today for the first time. Decided to try the smothered pork roast, with cabbage and black eyed peas. The meal also included cornbread, which was very delicious. The roast was good, although I’m used to a bit more seasoning, but that’s just the Louisiana in me. So, please don’t get it wrong.. it was good. The cabbage & black eyed peas were also delicious.
Service was great and I will definitely try again.
Thanks!

What a treat!! This place is brand spanking new here in Douglasville and offers a great variety of edible delicacies. Not only is it family owned but it’s Black owned which was awe inspiring to see. I am vegan, and for us there are various vegetable selections to eat, although I’d like a Mac and cheese option as well! They do have vegan desserts, including Red Velvet and Mandarin Orange cupcakes. So far I’ve tasted only the Mandarin Orange which was absolutely delicious. It’s not overly sweet, which I thought it might be, it’s just the best touch of sweetness with a great cake that I devoured within moments! They were pretty much 5 bucks each and they also serve them in packs of 6. You also can order Red Velvet to be made for pick up as they were not readily available.

I can't comment on anything other than the taste as my nephew picked my dinner up for me. He did say the place looked clean.
Awful! at best. The Mac and Cheese tastes like regular, not homemade, Mac and cheese with garlic powder added. Greens had an overwhelming taste of funky seafood. Some kind of underwhelming box yellow rice. The cornbread tasted like course textured box cake. The brisket was OK but a bit fatty.
I did not expect it to taste like my mother's homemade food but I was terribly, terribly disappointed.

Nice little soul food spot. Great customer service, very welcoming. Food was good, I ordered the lemon pepper whitening and coleslaw. And my wife ordered fried shrimp and mac and cheese. The only thing that I don't like was the coleslaw. It was dry, not enough coleslaw dressing in it. And the red velvet cake was not moist at all, and cornbread to sweet for me,but it was my first time, and I would go back again to try other things. I just know what to stay away from lol 😆.

I LOVE this place! I come mainly for the dessert. I'll get food too, but the cake?! OMG theeee best! My partner LOVES the cheesecake. They tell me all the time that this is the best cheesecake they've ever had. So I'll always get a cake for myself and a cheesecake for them. I wanted to surprise them with a broomsman cake for our wedding so I got the Milk n Cookies cheesecake (their all time fav) and it was a hit at our wedding. The broomsmaids loved it as well.
Y'all, the food and dessert here is so good, I promise! Plus, the staff is always friendly and helpful. Try them out. You won't regret it.

I ordered a fried fish platter , Mac n cheese , corn bread and cake . I spend almost 40$ . I asked for my food to be made extra crispy . I received soggy fries and fish , hard Mac n cheese and corn bread mashed down and falling apart .
Only good thing was the cake which was a 10/10 .
Probobly will not be back .
